How I would change my city
How I would change Austin Texas
If i was the mayor of Austin Texas, I would try to change a lot of things. Austin Texas is my home and also one of the coolest places to live in the United States of America in 2017. If you live in Austin, you already know it is a fantastic place to be with festivals, great food, and live music wherever you go. Unfortunately, the residents of Austin are aware of the ever growing relentless traffic problem. As of February of 2017, Austin Texas is the 13th most congested city in the United States. Each year, hundreds and hundreds of people come to Austin increasing the population. While the population increases, the traffic gets worse and worse with all the cars on the road. Austin drivers spend 12% of their time driving stuck in traffic. A local’s commute is getting increasingly difficult and getting from A to B is becoming more and more of a chore. There are two ways to solve this problem. The first way to solve this problem is to better public transport and make it more favorable to the public. If Austin Texas had a successful and efficient train or subway system, the number of cars on the road would dramatically decrease. The second, is to build more roads. Austin has a select few main roads that will take you where you need to go. Many of Austin’s roads that have higher speed limits often come to an intersection. Frequent starting and stopping can cause more accidents and more traffic. As the mayor of Austin, I believe increasing the amount of routs and individual can take while driving will keep more cars off of the main roads and negate traffic.
