BAM!! The gunshot goes off and the next thing you know your shooting instructor lays dead next to you, a bullet hole in his head. This is what a 9 year old girl experienced a few weeks ago at a shooting range. She was being taught how to shoot an automatic uzi machine gun and couldn’t control the recoil, and accidentally shot the instructor in the head, who was standing beside her.

This incident has sparked a debate over whether she should have been allowed to handle a weapon of this magnitude. If she had been using a smaller caliber gun, the recoil would have been less and this would not have happened. This has caused a debate about gun safety once again around the country. Will there be changes in gun laws because of this?

The family of the man who was shot recently released a video saying, “We forgive you for what happened and don’t want you to let this affect your life or who you are.” They tell her to continue with her life and be happy, and that they hope someday they will be able to meet her.
