Hurricane Sandy or The Nor’easter had a tremendous effect on most of the eastern part of the United States. One of the most affected states was New Jersey, also known as the Garden State. Even though the storm did not seem it would be that deadly, Hurricane Sandy was one of the most devastating Nor’easters in US history.

The damage ranged from a couple of branches falling off of some trees to some houses being flooded and completely destroyed. The Saturday following the day of the storm was reported to have a staggering number of 24 deaths alone.

An estimated 120,000 Homes lost power, soon after the Nor’easter governor Chris Christie gave a speech and in it he announced houses without power will be restored by Sunday. Many people were upset by the news but others lost their home as a whole so they had bigger things to worry about. Hundreds of homes perished due to sandy causing more than 20 billion in repairs.
One of the most crucial, damaging parts of the storm was the flooding. The amount of water that Sandy brought onto the shores of New Jersey was enormous. Subways were flooded, floor to ceiling.
