100 Word Story: XC
It was when I was in 4th grade that I realized something about myself. Everyone I knew had something special, unique about themself. But I didn’t have that. In June of 2017, I joined a cross-country team and worked like a dog. Because of my hard work, I placed well in the conference, I qualified for Nationals across the country. I remember replacing in the top 30 of over 300 girls from all over the country. That race showed me that I too, had something special. I just needed to put the work in to find it.
