A goal, my name
In Japanese, my name can be written in multiple ways. Based on how it is written, it can also have different meanings. Such as “one life” or “all together”.
The name “Issei”, in my case, means “one truth”. The “Is” and “Sei”. The “Is” represents the “one”, and the “sei” represents the “truth”. My parents may have named me Issei to symbolize my path towards the truth.
But The truth does not refer to the path taken, but the goal in which the path leads to.
The “sei” also has another meaning in my name. It can also mean “sincere”. Describing the personality my parents want me to be like. The “Is” can also be interpreted as the “one” from being number one. Though it does not necessarily mean I should become number one, but means the effort I put into things should be at my best.
I might not be at the point where my name perfectly symbolizes me. Though that is one of my goal as a person. To be a sincere and truthful person.
My name represents the type of person I desire to be. This is a perfect goal because I will not forget about my goal due to how it is my name. Other than the definition, it means something I would not forget, and I should not forget. It reminds me to become a truthful person.
The reason I want to be what my name represents is because I have seen the dark side of the world. People deceiving other people for their own benefit make me think of how scary the world can be. In order for me to stay away from being a person on that side, I made a goal to become a truthful person.
