Autumn Leaves
My name means Christmas time. Or the biblical meaning “the lord's birthday”. But I am neither cheery nor religious.
I was born around Halloween. Christmas’s competitor. The peak of when leaves turn red and the pumpkins are carved. But “Noelle”’s letters are not carved. They are smooth and fluffy. When you sound out “o” and “Elle”. On the tip of the tongue when you speak. Like getting burned by hot chocolate. Where you catch snowflakes.
My personality is sharp, but my name is pleasant. It means very pretty, like the snow falling on Christmas morning. The light fluffy packing snow. The type of snow where you can make snowmen. Or snow angels. The type of snow that is pure white and crunches when you walk. But I am beautiful like autumn leaves; the ones that are deep red and while walking, make crackles.
My personality is quick and funny. My name is soft and short. So my last name evens out the blades.
Urban is carved. Urban is not fluffy. Urban means city; sounds like skyscrapers. It has a snap to it. When you pull back your tongue for “r”. Snap it forward for “n”. It is tough and scraps the top of your mouth.
Unlike my first name, my last name describes autumn’s sharpness. Autumn red, orange, and yellow colors. Autumn sound of leaves and the crisp air. The taste of apples and the sweater weather. And the sound the rake makes when it hits the new, falling leaves. Autumn is sharp like my personality with its crackles. And quick with its changing leaves.
The softness of Noelle. The sharpness of Urban. It helps balance out my personality and describes me beautifully.
