What is Raccoon?

Raccoon

Noun

Meanings: Literal, Spiritual, Metaphorical

Pronunciation: (rac-coon

Size: 8-20 pounds

Nationality: American

The word raccoon comes from a small mammal with an array of depressing colors such as brown, black, gray splurged onto a so-called “Rodent”. Raccoon has cute tiny paws with a fox-like face. Raccoon has another name called “Trash Panda” which often hurts its feelings when being called the rude nickname.

When raccoon is embraced by a teenage girl, she feels the need to immediately share it with her friend. They text back and forth, arguing about their feelings towards raccoon. The older, less mature best friend tries to explain to the younger, more mature best friend that raccoons are the answer to everything… but younger best friend refuses to believe it. Minutes, days, and months go by, but raccoon still lie in their chat history for all to see. Despite raccoon being a rodent, no one would have thought it would create an even stronger bond between the best friends.

Raccoon, Literal.

“The raccoon annoyingly digs through and eats our trash outside at night.”

“Why would you want a pet raccoon? They are trash pandas.”

Raccoon, metaphorical.

“We all have those days where we feel like a raccoon with a box of twinkies stuck on its head.”

“Having Raccoon eyes pretty much sums up what I look like in the mornings.”

Raccoon, spiritual.

“Dude I swear a raccoon is my inner spirit,  everytime I see one, all my problems get solved the next day.”

“My car wouldn’t start last night before I went to bed dreaming about raccoons. This morning, my car started and is doing better than ever!”

I like raccoons so I wrote a piece about how one of my friendships has evolved through gaining knowledge of raccoons.
