Is-3 Soviet Heavy Tank
The Is-3 is a Soviet Heavy tank used in the Soviet invasion of Hungary, and fought in the very very end of WWII against the Japanese. Egypt and afew other countries also got their hands on this beautiful machine as Russia produced and sold more. They were also used to show off in the Victory over Berlin parade after the Soviets and other allies conquered and destroyed Berlin, leading to the end of the war. Though they weren't reportedly used against Germans they still participated in the parade to show the health and technological advancement of the soviet army after fighting Germans.
Now let's talk about the details of this tank. She’s got one of the first iconic IS hulls built which was used on the later tanks in her line as well. The hull isn't curvy like the turret but long and flat to hold the large turret. It has a flat rear for the engine and transmission and a point between the tracks at the front of the tanks. Hull armour was weaker than that of the turret but not by much, the front had about 200 mm of armour and with the sloped point at the front of the hull it had an effective thickness of 275+ depending on the angle it was shot from. The side and rear armour was much weaker, only about 150-200 and not angled good enough for a good effective thickness. Now let’s talk about the curves she’s got. Her turret sports a 5.4 meter long cannon that shoots a 122mm wide round with up to 500+ mm of armour penetration. The Turret itself looks like an upside down bowl but her turret armour is varying in different spots from 150-350 mm thick, with the bowl shape and angles it has about 250-750 mm of effective thickness which is very good for its time. Many rounds fired will simply bounce off or ricochet due to the bowl shaped turret. Now like every great tank she does have weak spots. Not many though. Her roof is very lightly armoured along with the engine deck. The rear of the tank is weak, and the tracks are unprotected. Her barrel is a rather large target to shoot as well. She does have a hull mounted 12.7mm machine gun known to us as a 50 cal. Since she weighs so much she isn't fast.
With 5 crew members and a bare minimum of 2 to operate the Is-3 is a beast. She is loved by history enthusiasts and people that play video games with it. Such as War Thunder and World of Tanks. Although it is good it's no longer in service in most countries due to modern MBT demands. In conclusion the Is-3 is an amazing tank.`

I like to play a lot of war based strategy games, escpecially ones with armour support. I have grown to like tanks quite a lot because of this.
