The Truth

The truth. Lost, hidden, or nowhere to be found. Not often told, hardly heard, covered up, like the clouds cover the sky. The truth is beautiful like the sky, so why don’t we always see it? Why is it covered by lies? Instead of showing its true, remarkable colors, it’s covered by sobbing clouds, ready to rain. Just as clouds are part of the sky, lies have become part of the truth. But the truth about truth is, it’s sealed every so often, waiting to be found, waiting to be uncovered. Though you might think things have changed and all the lies have been chased away, some truths lie hidden behind clouds, waiting to be discovered.

In this set piece, I am experimenting with similes and metaphors, which is when you are comparing two things that are not alike but share something in common.. For example, I am comparing truth with the sky and how both are “covered up”. I also talk about how the truth is sometimes covered up by lies and that the sky is sometimes covered up with clouds. What I like about the set piece is how I made truth and clouds sound very alike when in reality they aren’t so much.
