The 600 Corridor
Once upon a time, Wheatley had a 600 corridor. However, your teachers won’t tell you about it if you ask. It’s been over fifty years since it was last seen in the school. Every teacher who previously worked during the time is now long gone. Nowadays, no one believes that it exists, and won’t notice the evidence that proves it. Some of the older teachers have heard of, and still consider the myth, but the students merely waive off the story, calling them old and crazy.
The 600 corridor was a hallway under the track outside, stretching around the entire circumference of the trail. It was discovered when the members of the track team, Joe, William, and John were practicing on their own time, without their coach, and as Joe was rounding the track, his foot punctured it, and he fell through. Bam! He hit the ground hard, like a bird getting shot by a hunter and plummeting to the ground. He screamed as this happened. William and John dashed over to assist Joe. They peered through the hole and saw the hallway that was waiting to be explored,
“Where are you, Joe?” asked John.
“Over here. I think I twisted my ankle.” cried Joe.
“Don’t worry we’re coming down,” said William.
The pair carefully dropped into the hole and lifted Joe up. They placed his arms over their shoulders, so they could help him walk without pain. They weren’t going to leave without checking the place out.
The fall was only about five feet deep, so if you fell into the corridor, you could easily jump up, grab hold of the mainly intact track, and pull yourself up. This allowed the runners to explore the large hallway. They soon realized that the underground area was a school hallway that seemed abandoned. It had lockers, classrooms, and lights that were powered off. The lockers were coated in cobwebs, the classrooms and the desks inside them were encased in thick coats of dust. The place clearly hadn’t been touched in many years. As the three walked across the hallway they noticed something unusual. They saw figures inside the classroom, but they weren’t moving. The kids opened the door that looked as if it hadn’t been opened in ages. It creaked as they opened it. As the door opened, they froze in astonishment. They spotted frail motionless figures. They carefully crept slowly up to the figures. As they reached them, the group’s jaws all dropped to the floor, as they realized these figures were skeletons.
“How is this possible?” asked Joe
“I have no clue.” responded William.
“How are the skeletons still in the classroom? It’s as if the corridor is frozen in time.” Said John.
The kids explored the corridor more and more, discovering even more unexpected objects throughout the classrooms. They found more skeletons that were as lifeless and still as an ant playing dead. The kids later found themselves lost in the hallways of the 600 corridor. After hopeless days with scanty amounts of rotten food from the ancient cafeteria, the children eventually gave in. The darkness that filled the 600 corridor engulfed them. Without any food or water, they were left to die, and their bodies to decay, becoming part of the collection of lifeless skeletons they previously saw. The word of the re-discovery of the corridor could never be shared with anybody.
There are many pieces of evidence supporting the existence of the 600 corridor to this day. In the hallway between the cafeteria and the tech classrooms, there is a sign pointing to the exit, which states “600 corridor”. Everybody ignores this sign because it points to an exit, thinking it may be a mistake. There is also an old map of the school which was found, which clearly showed the 600 corridor, dedicated to a lounge for students, with a couple classrooms which couldn’t fit in the rest of the school.
The 600 corridor was divided from the school in a major earthquake during the 1940’s, which submerged the corridor underground. As time went on, grass and vegetation grew over the building, covering up most of the remains. The 600 corridor is now gradually being pulled farther and farther away from the school, beyond the Wheatley Woods due to earth’s magnetic pull. Soon, the building will be completely impossible to find, with no path to it.
