My Name
In English my name means pure. Like a delicate daisy blowing in the wind. Like a soft breeze on a warm summer day. Optimistic and bright, like a sunrise looking forward to the day ahead. Like the color of the clouds on a sunny day, a perfect white, soft and innocent.
Funny how such a sweet name can have very little story. It was just plucked from a list of names. Sometimes I wish it had more meaning, but that just means I need to create my own.
I find I match my name very well. Is it because my name shapes who I am, or is it because I adapt to my name? I am sweet and kind, matching the softness and pureness of my delicate name. I’m always ready to help others. In fact, I hope to do that for the rest of my life. Perhaps in some medical career, I can help improve the lives of others.
Yet there is another side to my name other than the sweet, pure, cheerful side. Short and sweet, Kayli is straight to the point. No nicknames, no shortcuts, just Kayli. Kind of like me - independent and honest, I don’t like fluff. No wasting time on pointless things or things that won’t be worth it.
I’m lucky to have a name that matches me so well. A name describes you. It sets the tone for who you are. And mine embodies who I am. And for that I am thankful.
