Man with the Blue Earing

I love people. Simple as that. I'm not a totally optimistic person that goes around hugging everyone she meets but I find people just incredibly interesting. Most of my art centers around the uniqueness or emotions of a person. Since everyone is so amazingly different and each person is so fantastically complex, painting people is never gets old. This particular painting is of a man who may not fit society's norm. This piece of art embraces the difference in people and the mystery in each one of us. This person looks fairly gender-neutral; he could be gay, straight, a transvestite, trans-gender or simply well-groomed with an interest in jewelry. Nonetheless he is incredibly unique both on the inside and outside- and he embraces it! He rocks a large earing like nobody's business. Simply because it looks cool and he can. He might be weird but hey!- you are too.
